European, Equestrian Backgrounds Help Anna Niehaus Connect With Clients

For Anna Niehaus of Keller Williams Luxury International, her connection to Wellington began across the Atlantic Ocean.

“I was born and raised in the small town of Riesenbeck, Germany,” she recalled. “Riesenbeck has only 5,000 people but big national and international horse shows. Horses and dressage have always been part of life. My plans to become a school teacher were a little diverted when Riesenbeck hosted the world championships for four-in-hand driving, and I connected with the U.S. team.”

That connection led to an invitation to spend some time in Massachusetts and Florida. It was the latter location that changed her life. “I fell in love with the warm weather and the small town of Wellington with all its equestrian activities and never left,” Niehaus said.

Her first job was as marketing director for the Royal Palm Beach-based Royal Professional Builders. She held the position for more than 20 years and learned every aspect of the construction industry and local real estate. One aspect of the work affected her greatly. “My favorite part was always sales,” she said. “I love working with people. From first-time homebuyers to large custom estates, I enjoy being part of the process that makes their dreams come true.”

Niehaus has been licensed in real estate since 1992, but in 2011, she decided to sell real estate full-time. “I was longing for a more flexible schedule that would allow me to get back to riding and horse-showing a little more,” she said. “I am working as many hours as I did before, but I am so much more flexible now.”

Niehaus joined the Keller Williams team in 2013. It was a natural fit from the start. “Everybody was professional, positive and very helpful,” she said. “Being part of the largest real estate agency in the western communities has given me access to a great network of Realtors, global presence and tremendous support. Many of the equestrian properties range in the upper price levels. So, I qualified and joined the Luxury Division at Keller Williams.”

This has worked out well, given her long equestrian background and international heritage.

“Wellington has a huge international market,” Niehaus said. “My knowledge of the German language and my European background help me understand and connect with my European clients. I respect the various cultures and like to cater to them accordingly. Good communication is the key to a smooth transaction and to transparency. I am available to my clients around the clock, and I am here in Wellington year-around.”

Niehaus sees Wellington as a real estate dream come true.

“With such a wide range of properties to choose from, there is something for everybody: a small condo in town, a single-family home in a gated community, a small farm in Loxahatchee or a large equestrian estate close to the showgrounds,” she explained.

Niehaus counts herself among the countless residents who have fallen under Wellington’s sway.

“This area is a piece of paradise for such a large number of people,” she said. “Equestrians, golfers, snowbirds, retirees and people like me who just love the weather.”
